Watch: An Oman cricketer showcases his imitation of the bowling action of the former Pakistan pacer, often referred to as ‘Shoaib Akhtar 2.0’.

A video clip of a young cricketer mimicking Shoaib Akhtar’s bowling action has recently taken the internet by storm. The aspiring bowler, named Imran Muhammad, showcased his remarkable imitation during an Oman D20 League match between Azaiba XI and Darsait Titans.

Imran’s bowling action bears a striking resemblance to that of Shoaib Akhtar. From the extended run-up to the delivery technique and even his flying hair, it all exudes a Shoaib Akhtar-esque aura. His action, akin to Shoaib’s, allows him to generate power from the shoulder, enabling him to release the ball with the full momentum accumulated during his lengthy run-up.

The commentator on-air remarked, “I hope he has the same aggression as Shoaib Akhtar.” If young Imran can match Akhtar’s pace in the future, it could potentially catapult him to the pinnacle of the cricketing world.

It’s worth noting that during the 2003 Cricket World Cup, Shoaib Akhtar bowled the fastest delivery ever recorded in international cricket. At Cape Town, the Pakistani fast bowler clocked a blistering speed of 161.3 km/hr against England.
